Each knife carries a name.
Knives I make by hand for my family, my friends and people I admire. Each one gets the name of its owner, a story and a film of how it was made. None of them is for sale.

Four things every knife gets.
Named after its owner
Every knife gets a name and a number, and they stay with it.
A reason to exist
Why it was made, for whom, and what went into it. Written down, kept here.
Materials with history
Burls, shell, copper, old wood from a family table. Luxury and performance together.
Every build filmed
So you can see the hours inside something that looks simple.
The usual way in is three to five years next to a master. I gave myself one year and an AI tutor.
By day I run a software company. At night there is a garage workshop in Bratislava, a belt grinder and a lot of questions. Nine months after the first one, the first knives were done.
Where the name comes from.
Zahumenský comes from za humnami: the strip of field behind the threshing floor, where wild strawberries grow. Small, unplanned, worth looking for.
The ZH tile is the workshop's sign: letters deep, square shallow. Every knife carries its own number. Nothing is made twice.
Still learning. Help me get better.
This is a hobby, and I am learning all of it at once: making knives, filming them, editing, publishing and building this site. So please forgive me if not everything here is 100% yet.
If something could be better, whether it's an edge, a photo, a film or this page, I would love to hear it. Advice that helps me improve means more to me than criticism.
Tell me why, on video.
No price, no promise. Record a short video and tell me why. If your story stays with me, maybe the next number carries your name.
